New life in a palette

I found out the hard way that a wet acrylic palette lasts a few days, max. After that it starts to smell a little earthy. I forgot about mine when I went on holidays the other week and when I got back, well, let's just say I'd started my own science experiment. A whole ecology was evolving in that container. But otherwise, it's brilliant and I love that it reduces paint wastage and keeps the paint at a consistency I like even better than what comes directly out of the tube.

  2. For about one, confusing, minute, I thought you meant that - including the ecology, after a week of holidays, your acrylics were even BETTER :D I love having my mind bent at 7 am ;)
What I also totally love, is the tips artists share - I really appreciate the original experiment, when I think about that process :)

    1. Oh yeah, Yvonne, perhaps I should have mentioned that I threw out the contents and made a new one. Haha!

  3. Oooops at arty science experiments... One time I tried doing papier mache with a flour-based glue, will not be trying that again any time soon!!!

  4. I've done the same with my wet palettes too, Jodi. Taking the lid off kinda takes your breath away but in a nasty way. LOL I find mine last up to a week before they cry out to be refreshed. Glad you're enjoying them...couldn't get by without mine. :)
